Positive Gain Slope Amplifier Operates from DC to 20 GHz

The CMD192 is a wideband DC-20 GHz GaAs MMIC distributed amplifier available in die form. This amplifier delivers greater than 20 dB of gain with a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of + 22 dBm and a noise figure of 2.8 dB at 18 GHz.

Unlike most distributed amplifiers, the CMD192 has a positive gain slope with increasing frequency, thus compensating for the higher frequency losses typical of other components in a system. In addition, the use of on-chip tracking circuits ensure consistent performance over temperature and process variation. The CMD192 is a 50 Ohm matched design that requires minimal off-chip components to complete the bias network, which is typical of this amplifier topology.

The CMD192 is suitable for microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, and military and space applications.

6-20 GHz Low-Noise Amplifier Delivers More Than 20 dB of Gain

The CMD194C3 is a packaged broadband amplifier offering low noise figure and high gain while requiring a single-supply voltage.

The CMD194C3 operates from 6-20 GHz and delivers greater than 20 dB of gain with a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of +15 dBm and a noise figure of 2 dB. The device is housed in a leadless, Pb-free, and RoHs compliant 3x3 mm ceramic surface-mount package. The ports of the MMIC are matched to 50 Ohms, thereby eliminating the need for external DC blocks and RF matching. The CMD194C3 low-noise amplifier is ideally suited for EW and communications systems where small size and low power consumption are needed. Applications for the CMD194C3 include point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, military EW systems, and test instrumentation.
