These days, folks at Qorvo know that providing customers with cutting-edge technology goes far beyond just offering products to market. It’s clear that those products result from a depth of collaboration, continuous innovation, forward-thinking, communication and learning along the way. Enter Qorvo’s Technical Forums, a resource designed to enhance the customer journey by fostering community-driven problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
Qorvo AI Software Specialist Matt Irons shared a closer look at the purpose behind these forums and explored the value they bring to both Qorvo and its customers. Matt says the forums are a dynamic space where users can tap into Qorvo’s expertise and also learn from their peers.
The Thought Process Behind the Forums
Clearly, Qorvo products often require a level of expertise that goes beyond simple usage instructions. “We’re a semiconductor manufacturing company,” he said, “and our products can be transformed into many different tools depending on the application.” Whether customers are working with Bluetooth or Qorvo’s GaN products, they often face technical challenges that vary widely based on their use case.
A Knowledge Base and Community in One
One of the standout features of Qorvo’s Technical Forums is that it isn’t just about receiving customer support from Qorvo staff. It’s about fostering a collaborative community where users can ask each other questions, share their experiences and provide guidance. “We hope that over time, the forums will develop into a self-sustaining knowledge base—a searchable repository of questions and answers from both Qorvo experts and active users,” Matt said.
The community-driven aspect adds immense value. Users aren’t just interacting with Qorvo staff; they’re benefiting from the collective experience of their peers. “There’s a lot of expertise within Qorvo,” Matt said, “but we also have active users who don’t work for us and still provide great insights and answers to others’ questions.”
The Impact of New Forum Categories
Since the forums’ launch, the team at Qorvo has seen measurable success. Matt points out the introduction of the QSPICE category, which was released in the second half of 2023. "We started to notice a significant uptick in metrics like user engagement, clicks and views whenever we introduced new categories,” he said. This growth was especially noticeable in QSPICE, where the increased activity demonstrated that users found the forums useful and relevant.
These forums are meeting a real need in the user community. Matt says the metrics speak for themselves. “You can look at things ranging from views to likes and the number of users participating. It’s clear that we’re creating pathways that people are following.”
Building a Collaborative Environment
For Matt and the rest of the Qorvo team, one of the most rewarding parts of managing the forums is seeing a community grow and thrive. “It’s exciting to see people actually using the tools we’ve built,” Matt said. “There’s a great feeling of accomplishment when you create something, and then users come in and make it their own.”
Beyond the numbers, a sense of collaboration and camaraderie is forming within the forum community. Users help each other troubleshoot problems, share tips, and sometimes even link back to previous discussions when similar questions arise. Matt calls it a key strength of the forums. “It’s like a solution delivery mechanism that’s searchable. If someone has a question today, it’s possible that someone else had the same question last month—and now there’s a documented answer they can easily find.”
What's Next?
Looking to the future, Qorvo has no plans to slow down. “We’ve seen success with categories like QSPICE, and we’re planning to release more forums in the coming months,” Matt hinted. Without spoiling any surprises, Matt said that new topics and expansions are on the horizon. “We’re always looking at what worked well in the past and thinking about how we can build on that success,” he added. Whether you’re a seasoned engineer or new to Qorvo’s products, the forums offer a wealth of resources to help you navigate your technical journey. As Matt put it, “It’s a community where people connect, learn and innovate—and that’s really exciting to be a part of.”
