    Perovskia Solar AG is a Swiss cleantech startup founded in 2021 as a B2B spin-off from Empa, Dübendorf. Our mission is to use ambient light to power connected devices through photovoltaic technology. 

    We’ve developed one of the world’s most efficient and versatile digitally printed photovoltaic cells, based on patented inkjet-printed perovskite and proprietary nanoparticle inks. Our technology has great performance even in low-light environments like homes, offices, and retail spaces, making them ideal for IoT, electronic shelf labels (ESL), and consumer electronics. 

    Custom-designed and ultra-thin, our photovoltaic cells integrate easily into products without compromising design or performance. The technology supports high-volume manufacturing and offers a practical, cost-effective path to battery-free or extended-life devices.

    Custom-designed, digitally printed perovskite photovoltaic cells 

    Perovskia Solar AG develops custom-designed, inkjet-printed perovskite photovoltaic cells for integration into IoT devices, electronic shelf labels (ESL), wearables, sensors, and other small electronics.  

    Our patented inkjet-printing process, combined with proprietary nanoparticle inks, enables highly efficient, ultra-thin photovoltaic cells that perform exceptionally well even in indoor and low-light conditions. They are particularly well-suited for energy-autonomous, compact, and maintenance-free devices.

    Our technology is already powering real-world products such as BHeart by Baracoda, the world’s first health tracker that never needs charging (CES Innovation Award winner), a UV tracker, a CO₂ sensor, and others, where our cells replace disposable batteries, significantly reducing e-waste and CO₂ emissions. 

    By combining energy performance, design flexibility, and scalable production, we help build the next generation of connected devices with lower environmental impact and enhanced user experience.
