DALLAS, – December 17, 2014 – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Active-Semi International, Inc. announced today the introduction of their ActiveCharge™ family of products and solutions for ultra-fast charging of mobile devices. Today, mobile devices are increasingly outfitted with larger battery capacities to meet the growing consumer usage demands and life-style trends that are much more power intensive. In response, the market is demanding charging technologies for mobile phones and tablets that reduce charging times by as much as 80 percent. Active-Semis newly released ACT4533C DC-DC and ACT520 AC-DC power IC products include reference designs that implement rapid charging in cigarette lighter adapters (CLA) and wall adapters. These solutions are compatible with all new rapid/fast charging standards being shipped in Samsung, Motorola, and Apple phones today.

The ACT4533C DC-DC offers 5V/2.1A and 9V/1.5A fast battery charging for CLAs, and the ACT520 AC-DC offers 5V/9V/12V, 1.5A solution for wall adapters. Both ICs include built-in protection schemes including over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, and over-temperature protection. The solutions come with easy-to-use reference designs and evaluation kits to enable fast prototyping and time-to market.
